Our Houses
Every child in our school belongs to a house: Malala, Mandela, Rowling and Peake. They were chosen as house names because we see them as inspirational people who in their own way have changed the world, and through our own aspirations we can aim to have the same qualities to be whatever we want to be.
Here are some thoughts from our children about our House Leaders.
'Malala teaches us to stand up for what is right and to never let bullies win. She also teaches us to be grateful for our education and to be thankful for the safe country in which we live.'
'Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years for protesting against the racist Government. He never gave up hope and always wanted a better future for the people. When he was released, he wasn't bitter; instead, he united the country and became president.'
'J K Rowling was rejected by 12 different book publishers before finally being accepted. She never gave up and demonstrated resilience. Now, as an extremely wealthy woman, she uses her money to help fund different charities and improve the lives of others.'
'Peake teaches us to follow our dreams. He was just an ordinary boy who had an ordinary life but he grew up to do extraordinary things because he believed he could.'
